Business & Farming Economic Outlook for 2023 and Beyond

On Friday the 3rd of February 2023, Collins O’Brien Maher, held a seminar and tax advice workshop on Business and Farming’s Economic Outlook for 2023 and Beyond, which was held at the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary.

The focus of the event was to provide people in attendance with some economic insight for 2023 and beyond as well as providing tax advice in relation to their specific circumstances.

The event was opened by Noel O’Brien, Managing Director, of Collins O’Brien Maher, which was established in 2018 when Collins O’Brien of Fermoy, Co. Cork joined with Donal Maher of Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. Collins O’Brien Maher has grown significantly over the past 5 years and now employs 12 staff providing a whole range of financial services to SME’s and Agricultural clients.

The seminar was addressed by Jim Power, Economist and Dr Anne-Marie Butler, Head of Education and Training at Teagasc.  Noel O’Brien, along with his colleagues, Margaret Russell (Office Manager), Sean Connolly, Diane Maher and Michael Keating (Director) discussed various topics such as:

• Company structures including the advantages and disadvantages of them

• Payroll reporting under the new PMOD system

• Capital Taxes such as Capital Gains Tax and Capital Acquisitions Tax

The seminar concluded with all in attendance being invited to meet the Collins O’Brien Maher team to discuss their specific tax queries.
